## Basic Questions asked in Civil Engineering Interview from IS Codes

### Basic Questions asked in Civil Engineering Interview from IS Codes.

The IS Codes is important for the Civil Engineers as they provide the client whose construction work is to be executed form of assurance & security. All construction works are executed as per reference of the IS codes. Every country has its own codes that specifies the execution & quality of the work. As The Civil Engineers, it is necessary to study Indian Standard (I.S) Codes by which execution of the work will be as per the standard quality.

Answer:  As per IS 383, Material composed of both fine aggregate & coarse aggregate is known as All-in-Aggregate.

2. ### Thumb Rules For Cement Masonry and Plastering Quantity

Q-16. What is the Anchorage Length?

Answer: As per IS Code 13920: 2016, Clause – 6.2.5, Anchorage length equals to development length of the bar in tension and plus ten times bar diameter minus the allowance for 90 degrees bend.

Q-17. What is the maximum percentage dosage of the retarder we can use?

Answer: As per IS 456: 2000 [Clause – 10.3.3], the maximum percentage dosage of the retarder we can use is 0.5 percent by weight of cementitious materials.

Q-18. What is the minimum quantity of the cement required for M25 grade of concrete for Moderate condition?
